Malé, Maldives

We arrived in the Maldives capitol of Malé around 7am, tendered ashore around 12:30 for a 2-hour walking tour of the island.  Malé is a 2 sq mile island and one of hundreds in the Maldivian country.  Because of the number and the shape of their layout, they are often referred to as the  "Necklace Islands".

Malé is the business/working island.  Other nearby islands house some of the most luxurious resorts in the world, think similar to the overwater bungalows in the South Pacific.

Leaving Malé around 4pm, we could see the whole island as we got underway for The Seychelles.

Maybe some more posts tomorrow while at sea.
